Any bedroom can be arranged for feng
shui
The ancient Chinese philosophy feng shui is a 3,000-year-old tradition of spatial design, creating harmony and balance between people and their environment. Literally translated, feng shui means "wind and water." It improves quality of life by mimicking life's natural order.
When creating feng shui in your bedroom, think of it as your place of rest, privacy, intimacy and refuge. It is for sleeping and lovemaking. If this room is not a place of harmony, the negative energy could harm your marriage, home life and physical well-being, according to feng shui professional and interior designer Robin Baron, founder and chief executive officer of Robin Baron Home Inc.
Place the bed in the position with the most commanding view of the bedroom door. We spend about one-third of our lives in bed in an open, vulnerable state. This area should be supportive to our being. Our relationship to the doorway into the bedroom is important because the door is the mouth of the chi (life force energy).
The five rules of bed placement are:
1. Avoid sleeping in a room located above or below the kitchen.
2. Avoid positioning your bed against the same wall as the toilet.
3. Avoid sleeping with your feet pointed to the door. If there is little space to change anything, place a screen between your bed and the door to soften the blow of fast flowing "chi."
4. Avoid sleeping underneath an overhead beam.
5. Keep the toilet door in your room closed at all times.
It is not good to place mirrors in the bedroom. According to feng shui practices, mirrors are an irritant to the bedroom area, contributing to poor sleep as they bounce energy currents back and forth.
Clean, gently flowing water can improve the sleeping environment in numerous ways.
Lastly, fill your bedroom with love and light. Honor it with celebration. Love and embrace your environment as part of you and it will joyously give back to you love and universal peace.
